Real Men Wear PINK!

OCTOBER – Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer is the second most common kind of cancer in women. (First is skin cancer.) About 1 in 8 women born today in the United States will get breast cancer at some point. At Seeds of happiness we are ALL big supporters of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, including the male species. See the proof below!

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a chance to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. The good news is that many women can survive breast cancer if it’s found and treated early. A mammogram – the screening test for breast cancer – can help find breast cancer early when it’s easier to treat. The American Cancer Society is actively fighting breast cancer by helping women get tested and helping them understand their treatment options and cope with the physical and emotional side effects. They also fund research to help prevent, find, and treat breast cancer.

You can show your support in the fight against breast cancer by purchasing a product from Seeds of Happiness. We will donate 10% of the retail sale price for each product purchased on the “Choose Pink” page to the American Cancer Society.  https://www.seedsofhappiness.com/choose-pink

Share the smiles, support the cause!

Keep Smiling Today and EVERYDAY!

October 2, 2015 – World Smile Day

wsd2The original ‘smiley’ was created by commercial artist Harvey Ball in 1963. Concerned about the commercialization of the iconic graphic, Harvey established Smile Day, which encourages you to participate in acts of kindness and to smile and make others smile. Since that first World Smile Day® in 1999, it continues every year in Smiley’s hometown of Worcester, MA and around the world.

On World Smile Day® the theme is “Do an act of kindness. Help one person smile!”.

Jake, aka The Seeds of Happiness Dog, is also a rescue dog.

This day has TWO goals: To honor dogs, and to rescue dogs from homelessness and abuse.

In addition to giving love and companionship, dogs help us out in countless ways. They are watchdogs for our safety. They lead the blind, aid in search and rescue, and seek out bombs and drugs.

I think that anyone that smiles automatically looks better. —Diane Lane

National Smile Week is celebrated during the second week of August and was established to promote dental health and the maintenance of a brilliant smile. But smiling has a positive effect on more than just your looks. It can be therapeutic and can also create a friendlier environment wherever you may be.1015418_10151664495778641_479488366_o

Bring Your Dog to Work and Say: “Cheese”!

Friday, June 20, 2014 = Take Your Dog to Work Day
A dog will teach you unconditional love. If you can have that in your life, things won’t be too bad. – Robert Wagner1015418_10151664495778641_479488366_o

This is a serious holiday for “Man’s Best Friend”. It is sponsored by Pet Sitters International. The day is to encourage employers to experience the fun and relaxation which comes with allowing pets in the workplace! And in addition, to encourage pet adoption; there are LOTS of great dogs out there who need forever homes. :-)

We would like to see YOUR dogs in YOUR workplace! We are having a drawing and the prize is a “Happy Dog” Big Seed of Happiness! Just e-mail a photo of you and your dog at your workplace. OR if you do not have a job which allows Take Your Dog to Work Day, just send us a photo of you and your dog. OR, even if you just WISH you had a dog and want to enter, send us your e-mail, too…everybody can play!

E-mail:  sales@seedsofhappiness.com

Deadline for entry is Monday, June 23, 2014 12:00 p.m. CDT. A winner will be drawn and announced by the end of the week. Good luck, thanks for playing and WOOF!
