At Seeds of Happiness we have gotten to know some of our customers and we would like our customers to know a little bit about us!  So, here are a few fun/funny facts about our second Smile Artist…

JEN

Something people might be surprised to find out about you: After graduating from college and searching for the “perfect” job (loooooooong before Seeds of Happiness!), I accepted a job selling a commercial trash service. I rode a trash truck for 13 hours (beginning at 3 AM) to “learn about the service”. That was my first and last day on the job!

Favorite Smell: With a total throwback to childhood and a nod to current parenthood, Vicks Vaporub. It’s comfort to me.

One word to describe yourself: Dedicated

If you could have one “superpower”, it would be:  Mind reading. My family already thinks I can do it, might as well make it official!

Your biggest fear:  Well, I have been told that it is not wise to let anyone know what your fears are because then they can taunt and torture you with that knowledge. That being said, my worst, most horrible, scariest fear is enormous, giant chunks of…CHOCOLATE!

Favorite things about working at SOH: There’s a tremendous amount of satisfaction with sculpting Seeds, knowing that I’m creating happiness for people to share. Mark (The Seeds of Happiness Guy) has set this wonderful tone for us, including laughter; lots and lots of laughter. It really is good for the soul!  We are the SOH family, in every sense of the word and I love working with these awesome, wonderful, amazing friends! I am honored and humbled to be a part of it. :-)

Smiling and Traveling, Part 1!

“On the road again, goin’ places that I’ve never been, seein’ things I may never see again, and I can’t wait to get on the road again”.  –Willie Nelson

We have heard from a lot of our friends who take Seeds of Happiness along on trips across the U.S. as well as abroad. So far, the Smiles have been to six of the seven continents. (If you or anyone you know is headed WAY down under to ANTARCTICA, please take a Seed of Happiness, or two, and send us a photo!)

Since Monday is President’s Day, we are again featuring Abraham Lincoln. Our friend Kelly and her daughters took a road trip to Springfield, Illinois, home of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.  As you can see, there is a diorama of the Lincoln home. It was a very educational and very fun time for ALL!

HONESTLY!

“Whatever you are, be a good one.”  — Abraham Lincoln

We are featuring Abraham Lincoln in our salute to President’s Day. He is considered by many scholars to have been the best President. He is credited with holding the Union together and leading the North to victory in the Civil War. Further, his actions and beliefs led to emancipation of African-Americans from the bonds of slavery.

In addition, here are few other facts about our favorite President:

* Lincoln was an accomplished WRESTLER and was defeated only once in about 300 matches.

* At 6’4″ he is our TALLEST president.

* Lincoln was the first President to have a BEARD.
